In-house training on Industrial Property Automation System (IPAS) for IP Division officials from August 27th to 4th September, 2009-(8/24/2009)
The 9-day in-house training on Industrial Property Automation System (IPAS) for IP Division officials is currently underway, which will conclude on September 4, 2009.
The objectives of the training are:
1. Resolve problems faced by the Trade Mark Registry with regard to IPAS. In addition Mr. Baccouche will also solve problems relating to opposition of marks that are pending in the Office.
2. Integration of Industrial Designs into IPAS is being done alongside with the training. IPD has launched registration of Industrial Designs in May 2009 and this training programme in particular will prepare IPD to commence the registration works as soon as possible.
3. The expert will also incorporate Patents and Utility Model Registration Systems in the IPAS simultaneously. The IPD is soon expected to operationalize these registries.
This training programme is intended to induct and train officials from IPD to handle industrial property applications and process and store through automation. Possibilities on the digitization of the office are also being discussed.
