  HYBRID WORKSHOP ON BRANDING FOR THE MINERAL WATER INDUSTRIES 

 

                                                             

October 5, 2021, Thimphu. The Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP) in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) conducted a half-day Hybrid Workshop on Branding to the representatives of Mineral Water Industries in Bhutan. 

Owing to the ongoing pandemic, the workshop was conducted through a hybrid platform. The participants based in Thimphu attended the event in-person along with the officials from the DoIP at City Hotel, Thimphu and other participants away from Thimphu attended virtually from their respective stations. The representatives from the following Mineral Water industries attended the workshop:

  • Aqua Bhutan, Bumthang
  • Drangchu Beverages, Phuentsholing
  • Paro Gangtey, Paro
  • Bhutan Milk & Agro Pvt.Ltd, Paro
  • Uhm-Chuna Natual Spring Water, Paro
  • Chimed Duesti, Thimphu
  • Bhutan Agro Industries Ltd, Thimphu
  • Living Water, Thimphu

The participants were sensitized on the following topics on branding:

  • Brief Overview: Mineral Water Industries in Bhutan;
  • An Introduction to Branding: What, Why and How; and
  • Best Practices on Utilization of Branding Tools for the Mineral Water Industries of Bhutan

The presentations were ensued with the brainstorming session with the participants using Mentimeter app as well as through dialogues. 

                                                       

The workshop was conducted as a part of the activities to be implemented under the ambit of EIE-BD (Enabling Innovation Environment to Strengthen Business Competitiveness through Brands and Designs) project which was signed between the DoIP and the WIPO in 2019.   

Subsequent to the workshop, few genuinely interested Mineral Water Industries will be selected for assistance in developing their branding strategy, packaging, logo, etc through the project. 

A total of 25 participants comprising of 12 representatives from the Mineral Water Industries including the officials from the DoIP attended the program.
